North Shore
Devonport through to Albany, where damp coastal winters and salt-laden air off both harbours decide the unit as much as the room does.

West Auckland

Auckland Central

East Auckland
Brick-and-tile with a wall of north-facing glass, estuary salt at Half Moon Bay, and open-plan new builds around Botany that one high-wall unit will not cover.

South Auckland
Manukau through Takanini: 1950s to 70s brick-and-tile that holds warmth well but has awkward layouts, alongside fast-growing subdivisions at Flat Bush.

Pukekohe & Franklin
Beyond the motorway the frosts are harder and more frequent than anywhere else in Auckland, so cold-climate performance actually matters here.
Covers: Waiuku, Tuakau, Patumahoe, Bombay, Buckland, Paerata and Pokeno.
Why the right unit depends on where you live
Auckland winters are not about deep cold so much as damp. Most of the year the real job is pulling moisture out of the air and taking the chill off a room, and a heat pump does both. Out at Franklin it is genuinely different, with harder inland frosts, so units that hold their output when the temperature drops are worth the extra.
Housing matters just as much. A single-glazed villa or bungalow in central Auckland or in the west loses heat fast, so it is sized on volume rather than floor area alone. The 1950s to 70s brick-and-tile through the south holds warmth better but often has awkward layouts. And the open-plan new builds at Albany, Hobsonville, Botany and Flat Bush need enough capacity for one big shared space, which usually means more than a single high-wall unit.
Servicing is for the installer’s own work
One thing to be straight about: the installer services and repairs the heat pumps they put in, not other companies' installs. If yours was fitted through this site, ring 09 243 1091 and it can be booked in. If someone else fitted it and it is playing up, a fresh install is worth talking about, but the old one is not something your installer can take on.
What it costs
Every home is different, so the price comes from the actual job rather than a sticker. Which Auckland suburbs do you install heat pumps in?
All of central Auckland and beyond, including Takapuna, Henderson, Manukau, Flat Bush, Pukekohe and Albany. If your suburb isn't one we've named, chances are it is still covered, so send your address and we'll confirm.
Do you cover the North Shore, West Auckland and South Auckland?
Yes, all three. We're regularly on the North Shore, through West Auckland, and down south around Manukau, Flat Bush and Takanini. It's all part of our normal run, so there's no extra travel surcharge for being at either end of the region.
Do you install heat pumps in Pukekohe and the Franklin district?
We do. We're out in Pukekohe and across the Franklin district regularly. Winters run colder inland there with harder frosts, so we'll talk with you about units that keep their output on a frosty morning.
